Nestled in the Uluguru Mountains lies Choma Village, home to Mzee Saidi Ngoma, a farmer whose life is deeply rooted in the land he tends. Surrounded by towering peaks and lush greenery, Mzee Saidi embodies a legacy of farming that stretches back generations.
His farm is a vibrant mosaic of crops, from the resilient yams and sweet potatoes that thrive in the rich soil to the aromatic cloves, cardamom, and bananas that fill the air with their distinctive scents. Pineapples, onions, pepper, sorghum, beans, and cassava grow abundantly, each crop playing its part in the ecological dance that sustains his family and community.

“My forefathers have been farmers, and I am happy to do the same. It is a privilege to feed the nation,” Mzee Saidi shares with a warm smile.
